The DVSA stopped publishing official driving test routes in 2010. But every test centre still uses a set of routes, and learners who know the roads around their centre tend to feel far calmer on the day. That's the gap Driving Test Routes fills.
Route Packs
A Route Pack is a set of real routes for one test centre, saved as GPX files. The details come from local driving instructors who know those roads. Learners and instructors download a pack and drive the routes between lessons, so the junctions, roundabouts and tricky lanes are familiar by test day.
A free app to drive them
GPX files on their own aren't much use in a car, so we built GPX Test Route Pro, a free app for iPhone and Android. You open your Route Pack in it and it talks you round every route with turn-by-turn directions, just like a sat nav. There's no subscription needed to use your Route Packs.
Every centre, ready to go
Driving Test Routes | UK is our second app, on the App Store and Google Play. It has UK test centres preloaded, so instead of buying a file you choose your centre, subscribe, and the routes are there with voice directions.
Watch the routes first
We also run the Driving Test Routes UK YouTube channel, with videos of real test routes from centres around the country and simple guides to setting up the apps.
Different ways to practise, built for the same reason: to make test day feel like a drive you've done before.
